Overview

Another World is a digital world platform built based on 3D game engines (i.e., WebXR and Unreal Engine), digital ownership (i.e., BTC and EVM blockchains), and IPs (creative/generative works).

We are building a multichain 3D world platform where crypto tokens meet interactive gameplay with a built-in land economy. Another World targets web3 users who bring their web2 friends to explore an open world decorated with curated artwork and hunt rare items as web3 tokens. Crypto projects, creators, and artists are co-creators who provide tokens and IPs to be part of a global, ongoing treasure hunt. Another World as a platform facilitates and maximizes engagement among creators, consumers (players), and partners via web3 native gameplay mechanics.

Another World infrastructure is built by game designers and web3 devs using the state-of-the-art game engine - Unreal Engine 5 integrated with digital assets on blockchains (i.e., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, SKALE, Harmony, SAGA, and Blast). Another World's public alpha (Windows version) can be downloaded via game launchers like HyperPlay and Epic Games Store (invite-only). A web-based review version (with limited access) can be found on the official site.

Why NOW

  • Interactive IP experiences (games and video streams) are web3's next waves for massive adoption. Web3 games, AR/VR/XR, and metaverse are getting consumer attention (again). GameFi projects are having tractions fueled by a growing number of crypto projects, game studios, video content creators, traditional IPs, and crypto native IPs entering the intersection of web3 and gaming spaces. Making IPs interactive with immersive experiences is a common goal and the virtual world is the best place to make it happen.

  • GenAI tools supercharge multiple aspects of game and metaverse development. Metaverse is the key intersection between AI-generated content and web3 tokenized economy. As GenAI has changed the pipeline of game asset creation, building a digital world can be more participatory, dynamic, and even decentralized. More GenAI assets and mechanisms are merging with 3D infrastructure.

  • There is no top 1 Bitcoin (BTC) metaverse yet. BTC consumer demand is ramping up and BTC supply is trending down. Rodarmor's digital artifact brings an influx of new BTC assets. BTC has its first metaverse protocol (.bitmap) which extends digital artifact narratives to building virtual worlds with digital assets on top of BTC. However, there have not been successful attempts to build a functional 3D metaverse based on Bitcoin. The top 1 spot has not been taken.

  • Consumer crypto UX is around the iPhone moment for another wave of adoption. Ethereum (ETH) EIP-4844 upgrade makes layer 2 (L2) fees 10-100x lower. EIP-4337 Account Abstraction provides more end-user-friendly possibilities to save user gas fees and execute cross-layer transactions. After crypto users, gamers are the next wave of early adopters of web3 games.

  • Crypto projects seek extra utilities as a value-adding strategy for their holders. As the crypto industry enters a bull cycle with BTC and ETH ETFs, more crypto tokens will be released. Token projects need to stand out by providing fresh utilities. A game platform can provide utilities to multiple tokens at the same time.

Why ANOTHER WORLD

  • Another World was born as a native web3 NFT game prototype in the ETH Global SF hackathon and has been a prize and grant recipient from ApeCoinDAO, Ape Foundation, Optimism, ENS, Harmony, SAGA, and SKALE.

  • Lead developer @JackieLeeETH (MAYC#2332) has been an active crypto game developer since '21 and invented several web3 integrated gameplay mechanisms such as soft token gating, cross-chain assets, in-game real-time airdrops, tokenproof-in-game-integration, and onchain kill-to-earn rewards. Jackie and the Another World team are web3 game masters in using Unreal Engine and WebXR.

  • Another World is building its cross-chain infrastructure combining BTC mempool and EVM Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to bring seamless BTC-to-EVM experiences in gameplay and potentially in other areas.

  • Another World is a collective of NFT holders of Bored Ape Yacht Club, Azuki, CloneX, OnChainMonkey, and many other collections. We are eager to build a crypto metaverse and we have been actively iterating on providing unique experiences to holders and players.
