The Metaverse Problem

Why are we not in the metaverse yet?

Most users do not come back to current metaverse apps they visited before because it is:

  • Not easy to access as a player: The metaverse should be a digital place accessible from any internet-connected computer with the most accessible requirement. A web version of the metaverse is essential for mass adoption.

  • Too fragmented, not an actual place yet: Jumping around different virtual places and rooms shatters the experience into fragmented time spent. The metaverse has not provided a sense of place. It needs to become a place where people can refer to and go there with friends like going to a theme park during the weekends. A place is not a place of hotel rooms but more like a theme park where different areas are interconnected on a walkable map.

  • Too hard to utilize: Metaverse lands are promising but holders are having a hard time utilizing them. It has been difficult to customize the experiences on those virtual lands and deeds. Metaverse landowners seek value-adding activities such as entertainment and commerce on their lands.

  • Lacking of incentives to play: Most metaverse projects are open worlds with low activities. Play-to-earn events can be one of the solutions to funnel players back into the game. Making the game more sociable with peer holders provides social incentives.

  • Lacking the incentive to win: Skill-based game mechanics need to accommodate players with all skills. Treasure hunting inside a battlefield seems to favor both lucky and skillful ones.

  • More fun to play web2 games: Indeed, but you will be a visitor in someone else' story. It's like getting on a bus but you have to get off at some point.

  • Not web3 user-friendly: Web3 users build their journey into token balances and wallet history. They are not blank-slate users. They can choose to be empowered by what they hold and possess. For example, web3 users can opt-in to use Ethereum Name Service (.eth) or Bitcoin domains (.btc/.sats) as their usernames.

What if I do not play games (in the bull market)

Another World is a game-like digital world and a gamified token engagement platform. You are not just a typical player in the web2 games. You will be using your BTC/ENS name as your identity to hunt airdrops and treasures in this vast world. If you've already owned digital assets such as tokens, NFTs, or BTC Ordinals, you already own certain game assets that may unlock exclusive experiences for you and the players around you. Try to bring a family member or a friend who plays video games with you. You will have fun exploring Another World and receive digital gifts along the journey.
